1. Project Overview
The OBI Nickel-Cobalt Project is a major nickel and cobalt processing project located in Indonesia. The project utilizes laterite nickel resources and advanced hydrometallurgical processing technology, with a dedicated pipeline system for deep-sea disposal.
The application presented demanding requirements for wear resistance, corrosion resistance, pressure performance and long-term operational reliability, particularly under marine and slurry conditions.
2. Donghong Solution
Wear-Resistant Composite Pipeline for Demanding Marine Conditions
Donghong supplied a steel wire mesh reinforced polyethylene pipe with a wear-resistant inner layer for the deep-sea disposal pipeline.
The composite structure combines the mechanical strength of reinforced steel wire mesh with the corrosion resistance and flexibility of polyethylene, while the specialized inner layer provides enhanced protection against abrasive slurry.
This solution was selected to address the combined challenges of abrasion, corrosion and long-term service in a marine environment, providing a durable pipeline solution for demanding mining applications.
3. Product Highlights
Wear Resistant
Designed to withstand continuous abrasion from slurry containing solid particles, helping extend service life.
Corrosion Resistant
The polyethylene-based structure provides excellent resistance to seawater and corrosive process media.
High Strength
The reinforced structure provides enhanced mechanical and pressure-bearing performance for demanding pipeline applications.
Long Service Life
The combination of reinforced structure and wear-resistant materials reduces the effects of corrosion and abrasion during long-term operation.
Lightweight & Installation-Friendly
Compared with conventional steel pipelines, the composite structure offers lower weight and easier handling during transportation and installation.
